Fall Focus: Starting Again, but Softer
For the women building their dreams and their peace. One season at a time.
Today my youngest turned ten. TEN. 10.
And somehow that milestone hit differently this year.
Maybe it’s because I’ve spent so much of the last decade working. Building businesses, chasing goals, creating security. But as I watched him blow out his candles this morning, I couldn’t help but feel a wave of bittersweet gratitude.
Because while I’m proud of what I built… I also know how many moments I worked right through.
And that realization, absolutely broke my heart. The quiet of this fall season has me reflecting on what I actually want this next chapter to look like.
When Success Costs Too Much
For years, I poured myself into my accounting firm & I’m so thankful for what it’s given me.
It taught me discipline, resilience, and how to build something from nothing.
But it also cost me presence. It cost me slow mornings, dinner-table conversations, and afternoons that didn’t revolve around a to-do list. It cost me my peace, energy because I was pouring it into my business & clients.
And when I tried to pivot into mentoring women, I quickly found myself in the same cycle, constant output, endless content, chasing visibility instead of connection.
That’s when I knew something had to shift.
What Fall Is Teaching Me
Fall is the season that reminds us that letting go is part of growth.
It’s the time to release what no longer fits, so something more aligned can take root.
I’ve been asking myself:
What am I ready to prune from my to-do list to make space for joy?
Where can I build new boundaries to protect my time and energy?
What can I carry forward from the last decade? The lessons, the systems, the wisdom and use to create something more meaningful?
This season isn’t about chasing something new.
It’s about creating space for something real.
What Comes Next
I still feel called to mentor women, that hasn’t changed. But now, I want to do it differently.
I want to build a space for real connection, for women who are figuring it out just like I am.
A place to talk through ideas, to be seen, to be heard. A space where it’s safe to not have it all together but still be brave enough to build something anyway.
A space where you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
I don’t want to be the one constantly talking at women; I want to be listening. I want to build a community where we grow together, where strategy meets life, and where every woman’s story matters.
If you’re reading this and nodding, maybe you’ve been craving that too. Maybe this is your sign that it’s time to find your people again.
So here’s to the next chapter! One built on purpose, community, and grace.
I’m so glad you’re here for it.
Join the Simply Inspired Mom village, a growing community of women who are building businesses, raising families, and learning how to do both with more grace and less overwhelm.
I’m also dreaming up new ways to mentor and support women in this next season. If that sounds like something your heart needs, I’d love to know what that looks like for you?
