I didn’t plan on becoming a business owner… it just happened. I started my bookkeeping firm 13 years ago while in college, with a baby on my hip and a dream I couldn’t afford to let go of. It was chaotic and crazy, but I showed up every single day and made it work.

At one point, I was making $50 after paying for daycare. But I had a long-term vision, and I knew that if I stopped, I’d have to start all over again. I couldn’t risk losing the flexibility I needed to be there for my family.

Fast forward to now, I’ve been in the back office of hundreds of businesses, from fresh startups to multi-million-dollar companies. And here’s what I’ve learned:
